Whether subtle or dramatic, the interplay of color, light, and shadow are integral to our perception of our world.  My artwork reflects a fascination with this interplay, regardless of the subject matter. I work primarily with soft pastel sticks because the pure pigments are not comparable to any other art medium, rending artistic effects that are vivid and dynamic.  When executed on acid-free archival papers and properly framed, pastel paintings are as durable and timeless as paintings rendered in other art mediums. I also execute works with oils, acrylic, gouache, and inks when a subject seems uniquely suited to these mediums.
